Descripción

El río Futaleufú, que en mapudungun significa “río (leufu) grande (futa)” nace en la cordillera de los Andes norpatagónicos. Específicamente, se origina en el parque nacional Los Alerces en la provincia del Chubut, Argentina, atraviesa la cordillera hacia Chile, y desemboca en el lago Yelcho. Posteriormente, sus aguas continúan su trayecto hacia el noroeste por el río Yelcho hasta desembocar en el océano Pacífico. Este río y sus rápidos son famosos a nivel mundial para practicar deportes de aguas blancas, siendo anualmente un lugar muy visitado para realizar kayak y rafting.

Cómo llegar

A 4km de Puerto Cárdenas en dirección hacia Futalelufú comenzarás a ver el rio por 46km aproximadamente cercano al camino vial hasta llegar a la localidad de Futaleufú.
